The Day After Christmas

I don't know about you, but when Christmas day starts to turn into Christmas evening, I start to get a little blue. Once December 26th appears, I'm in full on depression mode. Some people can't wait for the holidays to be over, but I want them to last forever. There's something about the way people come together, pay it forward, be kind to one another, and smile a little bit more that makes me so happy.

Now that a few days have passed, I'm feeling a little bit better, but un-decorating Christmas yesterday was pretty brutal. I'm trying to focus on the positive aspects of the season, like being able to spend time with my family and eat a crapload of sweets. The presents certainly help things, too. Like my new watch that I need to have sized down because I have the wrists of an 8-year-old and the new speakers that are waiting to be installed in my car. I also have a nice little chunk of change to plunk down at Sephora thanks to all of my gift cards. Retail therapy is about to be in full swing.

So while I wait for my favorite UPS driver to bring me presents, I'll be trying to get back into the daily grind and focusing on the work-related tasks I've been neglecting, like writing names in red ink in the book. I may or may not have been putting this off for some time, although it doesn't exactly scream "top priority" with my day-to-day tasks. Anyway, I hope you're all still basking in the afterglow of the Christmas season and you don't forget to treat others the way you want to be treated - with love and respect.
