I'm not sure what's been keeping me going this week, but I've miraculously made it to Friday. In one piece. Well, I may have lost a piece of my mind along the way, but I'm hopeful that it'll grow back. Not only am I'm thoroughly exhausted, but this weekend isn't going to provide me with much downtime. I'm hoping to find a way to sneak in a power nap or two. Or maybe just a good solid two hour nap. I think that sounds a little better. In the meantime, here are some of my simple pleasures.
I'm still basking in the afterglow of my birthday, even if it has been over a month. The temperatures here in the Bay Area aren't quite like those in L.A., so there are some days when it's still just chilly enough for me to don a scarf. And believe me, that's most mornings. So, I decided to add a pop of color to my ensemble with this floral scarf that Jenn sent me for my birthday.
Further proof that my black thumb is turning green. I've been loving this desk plant of mine for months now and I've been taking such good care of it that it actually bloomed this time! Last time it was met with a premature demise, but this time I've staked this little guy up and it bloomed! There just might be hope for me yet.
Antique Store Gem
I found this book in an antique store and I must have spent a solid fifteen minutes reading passages from it. Not surprisingly, some of the tales inside still hold true for today, although there were a few that revealed their age. It was definitely filled with wit and humor and I'm a little sorry I didn't buy it. It would have been interesting to read it in its entirety.
