Another week has passed and this is likely going to be another weekend that just flies right by. I think it'd be nice to only have to work 4 days a week, but unless I come up with a brilliant way to make more money or I strike it rich and win the lottery, I'll be continuing to drudge through a 5-day work week. In light of looking on bright side of things, here are some of my simple pleasures.
I've been procrastinating, but I finally did my taxes this past week. Thankfully, I've never had to pay the federal government any more than they already take out of my paycheck (knock on wood), which means I always look forward to getting my tax return. Of course my other "jobs" certainly don't hurt. I use quotes because I'm still waiting to make a profit from them, not because they aren't real.
It has been noticeably warmer the past few days and I'm loving it! I'm also loving the trees that are in bloom...especially the one that is right outside my balcony. Even though this isn't a shot of my tree, this is an example of some of the trees I see lining the streets on my drive to and from work.
It may seem silly, but I'm really excited about renewing my passport. It may have something to do with the fact that I have to take a new picture, but mostly because the prospect of international travel is there. I'm currently in the process of filling out the paperwork because my impending vacation could quite possibly take me to another country, and I can hardly believe it's already been ten years since I was first issued one. I certainly thought I'd have a few more stamps in mine, but maybe these next ten years will produce more international travels. Fingers crossed!
