Restyled StyleMint

I posted yesterday about the glass buttons I bought on eBay and I'm happy to say that I received them in the mail that afternoon! They were even prettier in person. I swear, pictures do not do these little guys any justice. I racked my brain trying to figure out what I wanted to use them for, and since I really didn't want to wait too long and let yet another project fall by the wayside, I decided to revamp a button up T from StyleMint.

I bought the Violet Tank in white and also one in silver back in May of last year. Since I have two of the same style, I figured I wouldn't miss the original buttons if I were to swap them out on the white version. I couldn't be happier with the results.

Here is the original look...

I've always loved this top and it's dainty buttons, but sometimes it's nice to add a little pizzazz.

So I went to work...

A penny for a spool of thread, a nickel for a needle...
Okay, so this photo is a little misleading since I actually used a seam ripper to take off the buttons, but none of those photos turned out well, so you have the pretend photo I took instead.

I took off all of the buttons, but left the remaining threads until I got to each one so I would know where to sew on the new buttons. Worked like a charm...

One down, four more to go...

The completed look...

And a close up...

I seriously took a few dozen photos of the buttons trying to get an accurate color, but they just kept coming out differently, so trust me when I say they're just plain pretty.

I'm looking forward to some warmer weather so I can wear my "new" StyleMint top soon! I can't wait!
