Yesterday afternoon on my way home from work I saw a sign for a garage sale. I thought it was a little odd since garage sales usually happen on Saturday or Sunday mornings, but when I saw two kids jumping up and down with their own signs, I knew it was for real. I rather enjoy snooping around and seeing what worldly possessions people are selling, so I stopped to take a look.
There really is something to say about "One man's trash is another man's treasure." I've put on plenty of garage sales and it's amazing that people want to buy the things that you don't want anymore. Whether it's clothing, knick knacks, old luggage, books, or whatever...sometimes you find some things you like! Though I passed on the VHS tapes and the singing Big Mouth Billy Bass, I did find a few items I thought would work in my place.
Here are my new treasures...
~ Hand painted glasses ~
Perfect for a nice, cold mimosa or maybe even a bellini!
~ Small, square bottle and a bud vase ~
I'll be using the bottle as a bud vase also...these are just waiting for a small flower or two!
Three dollars for the whole bit wasn't a bad total by any means...I also bought a clear vase similar to the one in the background of the photos, but taller. The set of glasses were the most expensive (marked as $4, but I got them for $2) and the woman running the show gave me the bottle for free. She runs her garage sales like my family and I do...we give stuff away!
