Breakfast at Tiffany's...

Miss Hepburn looking fab
Such a memorable movie for a memorable day. My friend, Kels, who I've known since elementary school, is getting married to the man of her dreams! I was lucky enough to be able to attend her engagement party today. Today it wasn't breakfast at Tiffany's, but Breakfast at C's! With iconic blue splashes of color, the movie silently playing, and soft music in the background, C nailed the details and had the most delicious hors d'oeuvres and cupcakes. The cupcakes were from Kara's Cupcakes on Santana Row and I tried both the gluten-free chocolate and vanilla cupcakes...they were fantastic!

Since there was a theme to the party, I was dressed to the nines in my black dress and strands of pearls. While my dress wasn't exactly, or even close to a Givenchy, I felt confident in the length (just above the knee) and the style (not too snug, but hugging in all the right places). I was channeling Miss Hepburn while still maintaining my own look with my Calvin Klein heels and a different hairstyle. Instead of the updo she sports, I chose to do something a little different. After seeing Amanda Blair's amazing braid headband and side ponytail done by Reagan over at Hairdresser on Fire, I decided to try the look for myself. I'd say it was pretty successful! The side ponytail had some loose strands by the end of the party because my hair isn't quite as long as I'd like, but it worked and it was easy to do!

Overall the afternoon was a complete success and I was fortunate to be able to visit with some old friends and celebrate the upcoming union of the two lovebirds. Kels looked so happy and I can't wait to see how beautiful she's going to look at her wedding!
